Himroo
In the era of the Tughlaq dynasty, Muhammad bin Tughlaq chose the city of Deogiri (renaming it Daulatabad), as the second administrative capital of the Dehli Sultanate. Along with the administration, the art of weaving followed the royals and settled down at Daulatabad. With a mixture of Persian and local characteristics, a new type of fabric emerged and within no time became the distinct element of Pehrao of Nawabs, Maharajas, and Sultans. The fabric was beautiful patterned silk woven with fine threads of gold and silver. That silk of royal families is known as "Himroo". The word Himroo originated from the Persian word Hum-ruh which means "similar".
Centuries have passed but the Himroo still possess those noble characteristics. Here we are presenting the beautiful hand-loomed supreme silk Himroo products. We welcome you all to get the experience of this silk of Maharajas.
